No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your warranty because you had maintenance done at an independent shop. The work has to follow the factory schedule with parts and fluids that meet the specification, and you should keep your invoices.

European engines need oil that carries a specific manufacturer approval, such as BMW Longlife-01, Mercedes-Benz 229.5 or VW 504 00. Viscosity alone, like 5W-30, is not enough. The approval your engine needs is listed in the owner manual.
On BMW, MINI and many Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche models, yes. These cars track the age and type of the battery and adjust charging to match. Registering a new battery resets that tracking. If it is skipped, the car keeps charging the new battery as if it were the old one.
